How to reuse your picky pad

Remelt

Remove all beads from the picky pad.

Double boiler (recommended):

Fill a pot with about two inches of water. Place a glass or metal bowl on top, add only the leftover circle, and bring to a simmer. Stir as it melts until it’s the consistency of maple syrup.

Microwave:

Cut the circle into smaller pieces and place them in a microwave-safe container. Microwave for 10 seconds and let sit for 30 seconds. Gently stir. Repeat until fully melted and the consistency of maple syrup.

Remix

Add the sustainable silicone-like non-silicone material (read: goo) to your container. Add the beads and tiny treasures from your picky pad and/or add new pieces. Allow 60 minutes to set.

TIP: Stir in the biggest and plainest beads first to cover the bottom of the mold. Then arrange more decorative elements (charms, gems, sparkly beads) on the top layer to give the picky pad some texture and dimension.

Resume picking

Wait 60 minutes for the picky pad to set and cool. If you’re using a silicone-like container, gently pull at the edges for the picky pad to pop out. Using a firmer container? Slide a utensil around the edges to free it.
